Week 3: Lesson 2

Mobilization and Action

During this month of extra generosity, of time, effort, labour, money, and support - both Muslims and non-Muslims are urged to keep mobilizing for Palestine and scale up their resistance.

Ramadan in Gaza: Palestinians break fast amid rubble

  • Show solidarity with Palestine every day by re-visiting PDM’s 101 Actions for Gaza resource.

  • Palestinian journalists are facing immense risk to give voice to Gazans - follow them on Instagram, Tiktok, X, Threads, Signal, and other platforms. Like, share, and comment on their posts - and make sure you are centering Palestinian voices and narratives in your mobilization efforts.

  • Muslim communities are mobilizing in powerful ways! Canadian Muslims are refusing Ramadan photo ops with politicians and the Canadian Council of Imams urges Muslims to offer unwavering support for Gazans. Urge your community to speak up just like this!

  • Take your solidarity to your local streets - occupy a street corner safely with posters, flags, and keffiyeh! Wave the Palestinian flag at an overpass! Continued mobilization can let your community know that this is still an important issue!

  • Fasting or not, continue to join protests near you! Here are some resources to help you find one near you: Canadians can sign up for CJPME’s weekly events email, UK folks can follow Pal Solidarity Campaign UK on Instagram, and everyone can follow Palestinian Youth Movement on Instagram.

  • Zakat (obligatory charity) is one of the five pillars of Islam, and it is a means of purifying our wealth and purging ourselves from greed and selfishness. Give zakat for Palestine at any or all of these places: UNRWA, Medical Aid for Palestine, and Zakat Foundation of America

  • eSims for Gaza will help Palestinians connect with family and show the world what’s happening - this is a ‘must’ for anyone looking to donate to the cause!

  • The BDS Movement is crucial for anyone who wants to make a difference! Know who to boycott and review the BDS Movement’s action items to make it a part of your life beyond Ramadan.
