PDM Responds To ICJ Ruling
We, the Palestine Diaspora Movement (PDM), call upon all supporters of the Palestinian struggle to urgently mobilize and put increased pressure on governments for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza amidst the extreme bombardment of Gaza and intensification of Zionist aggression in the West Bank, following the International Court of Justice (ICJ) rulings on January 26, 2024.
Last week, the ICJ ruled that a genocide is occurring in Gaza and ordered their own set of temporary measures instead of South Africa’s request for an immediate halt of Zionist military operations by ‘Israel.’
We reiterate that we do not acknowledge institutions preserving colonialism and Western hegemony - like the UN, ICJ, and ICC - because Palestinians will always suffer the consequences of these imperialist organizations, which we have seen this week. Make no mistake, the ICJ is the Imperial Court of (in) Justice.
The settler colony of Israel has broken every one of these measures, carrying out more crimes against humanity every day since the ruling. ‘Israel’ was ordered to ensure the army is not committing genocidal acts and prevent public incitement of genocide, yet IOF soliders disguised as doctors opened fire at a hospital in Jenin, West Bank and settlers blocked aid trucks from entering the Gaza Strip.
The Zionist regime continues to starve Gazans as a torture tactic in this ongoing genocide. In North Gaza, over 1 million Palestinians are stuck under fierce bombardment with almost ZERO humanitarian aid reaching them, creating catastrophic food shortages resulting in people using animal feed for food.
On Friday, 2 February, Al Jazeera published a video of the names of all Palestinian children killed by Zionist aggression. 11,500 names and 7 minutes long, with the first 34 seconds all being children under the age of 1. Al Jazeera notes even this list is less than half of those murdered by ‘Israel.’ Since the ICJ ruling itself, 1,270 Palestinians have been murdered, and by the time you read this, all of these figures will be out of date. This is the grave reality of the situation in Palestine.
The decision to not call on ‘Israel’ to permanently cease its military operations is a moral failure. The court has granted the Zionist entity another month to continue murdering, starving, and displacing Palestinians, which we are seeing with our own eyes.
This is why we urgently call on our people in the diaspora and our joint struggle supporters, along with pro-Palestinian organizations, collectives, and coalitions, to mobilize in support of the Palestinian cause. Flood the streets and be loud in your support for Palestine. Apply pressure on your elected representatives and institutions to call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, to stop arming the IOF and sanction ‘Israel.’ Amplify Palestinian voices and journalists in Gaza, share the stories of Palestinian martyrs, and do not let them just become another number.

Never forget that settler colonies cannot be held accountable in legal arenas they have created, true liberation of Palestine will be achieved through Palestinian resistance.
