Israel has manufactured a media storm and programmed it to become obsessed with painting October 7th as Israel's 9/11. This dangerous rhetoric aims to justify Israel's genocide of the Palestinians and serves to disguise their ongoing systems of occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and murder. In simple terms, this is Israel's PR attempt to transform itself from a murderous settler colonial fascist regime into a democratic nation defending itself against 'terrorists.' When in reality, Israel is arguably the largest terrorist organization in the world. This approach aims to paint Palestinians as aggressors rather than targets of an ongoing occupation and systemic mass murder campaign.
Western Media parrots Israeli Propaganda
The Western world, particularly the U.S., parrots Israeli propaganda and contributes to a dangerous spread of disinformation. This media criminalizes Palestinians and their right to liberation and resistance and works to manufacture global consent to justify the U.S.-sponsored genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The occupation is waging a propaganda war on social media to gather support and consent for their genocide against Palestinians. This class will help you differentiate between propaganda and reality.
Hasbara - Israel's Propaganda Tool
Hasbara, a term that translates from Hebrew to "explaining," is a form of propaganda used by Israel to justify its actions and policies. It's a tool for distorting events and fabricating narratives to defend Israel's murderous actions, especially in its ethnic cleansing campaign in Gaza. Hasbara is used to redirect blame from the settler colony of ‘Israel’ to Palestinian resistance, particularly in relation to civilian casualties and Israel’s intentional destruction of civilian infrastructure.
